Kind of ironically, I'm actually trying to be a storyteller, but in a more literal sense. I'm figuring out how to go to libraries and such and tell stories to kids, my own ideally and not from reading from a book. But you're right, "storyteller" flows from the tongue a lot better than "writer," and is so much more encompassing.
Non-fiction is "real writing"? Really? Articles I know can be more prolific, but they aren't what I think of when I think non-fiction. And even then, non-fiction is often a much more narrow catagory to fill, and has a much smaller demographic.
