Ah, yes, Operation Backpedal has finally begun. All these changes? Had they been smartly handled, would have been in the first installment before setting it loose among their site. Or (but I doubt it) had these been part of the original pitch, why hadn't they made this more clear from the outset? Privacy has always been an issue with public forum sites like this, Facebook gets it every time they update.

As is, it may be too little too late.

I do like they acknowledge their stupidity in an attempt of self-depressiation by adding that gif at the end.

Eh, even if LJ does resolve their fuck-up quickly (and I noticed they gave no clear date for when the cross-post modifications would take place), it's still owned by people who don't give a rat's ass about yanking their users around.
