30DoW: Day 5
Aug. 5th, 2010 03:05 am5. By age, who is your youngest character? Oldest? How about “youngest” and “oldest” in terms of when you created them?
Thiiis one's gonna be a toughie, namely because I don't really have a lot of characters on the far ends of either spectrum.
I'm hoping the question doesn't care about any given time, because the youngest I have is Tai-lan (or Alariza, depending on the version you go with) from Tigress, because we pretty much follow her story from birth. I don't really have many "kid" characters, at least none I can think of, so youngest is hard to do.
Not that oldest is any better; well, I have a couple stories that have gods, and they're usually a few thousand years old, how bout them? The main one who comes to mind, a goddess of my own creation, is Kareen, a fire/hunter goddess of an island archipelago culture. She hunted and trapped big, bad demons of the world into a giant crystal, then left it under the care of those silly humans while she got some rest, one of whom got curious and let them out, so she has to recapture them.
In terms of creation; um, the youngest, ironically it goes to Kareen, because she was created for an extra-credit assignment in sixth-grade. The task was a create an island and give it a culture, and I went and made a creation myth to go with it. Oldest, that would have to go to the boyfriend of my mafia leader from that noir story (damn you lack of title!). He still doesn't have a name, and he dies at the end (it's not really a spoiler I think), but he the last fully fledged character I can think of that's had any real impact on any story I'm working on.
